A worked example

Plan a travel budget: costs per day and person

A shared €1,000 budget for two people over five travel days equals €100 per person per day. That does not show what remains after prepaid flights or hotels. Subtract those expenses before comparing daily spending money.

Frequently asked questions

Why are hotel nights different from travel days?

Arrival and departure days may incur expenses without each requiring another hotel night. Use nights for accommodation and the actual days you need to fund for daily spending.

Is an exchange rate the final card price?

Not necessarily. The converter provides reference rates; banks may use different rates or charge fees. Rate requests need internet. Check the rate date and your card’s terms.

Calculate appliance electricity costs: watts, kWh and annual cost

What does a lamp, PC or refrigerator cost to run each year? Separate power in watts from energy in kWh and use your own electricity tariff. Compare appliances over the same usage period rather than judging them by wattage alone.
