What does a lamp, PC or refrigerator cost to run each year? Separate power in watts from energy in kWh and use your own electricity tariff. Compare appliances over the same usage period rather than judging them by wattage alone.
The right calculatorsFind the wattage and running time. For refrigerators, measured annual kWh or the energy-label figure is usually more useful than maximum power.
Use kWh = watts ÷ 1,000 × hours, then multiply by price per kWh. Use the variable unit price; a monthly standing charge does not automatically belong to one appliance.
Compare daily, monthly and annual costs using actual operating days. PCs at idle or under load, and air conditioning that cycles, need realistic average consumption.

A device drawing a constant 100 W runs for 5 hours daily: 100 ÷ 1,000 × 5 = 0.5 kWh per day. At an illustrative €0.30/kWh, that costs €0.15 daily or €54.75 over 365 days. Watts measure power; kWh measure energy. The price is an example, not a current tariff.
Only if it really draws that power continuously. The compressor normally cycles on and off. Use annual energy consumption or a measurement over several representative days for a better estimate.
No. It estimates the entered energy at the price you supply. Standing charges, time-of-use or tiered tariffs and other appliances can change the actual bill.
A bigger pack or a larger discount is not automatically better value. Convert offers to the same unit, apply successive discounts correctly and compare the final amount payable, including relevant extra costs.
